The Break-up – A short film

I am currently writing a short film titled “The Break-up.”  It is a piece that I started writing back in college for a creative writing class.  Originally it was just s short story that was to be 5 pages with dialog.  I didn’t really ever consider it to be worthy of a screenplay and it was definitely not written as such.  Hell, I had forgotten about it until recently when I found the old old paper I used for my class.  After reading it again, I decided to attempt to make it into a screenplay.  Now, I got a passing grade on the paper (the class was pass/fail anyway) so it really said nothing about my writing talent.  We’ll see if translates to screen.

It is the story of two people who have been together for a couple years.  As with most couples, they have gotten comfortable with their situation and have fallen into that dreaded routine of existing with one another, rather than living with one another.  Something has changed, however, for one of them, and she is at a loss for what to do.  She has questions that need honest answers, and she decides to take a certain path to get them, even though it is an underhanded way to go about it.  It is a story of the last moments in a couple’s lives together.  All it takes is five minutes to tear apart two years.  It is a story we have all lived through, probably more than once.

Written and Directed by: Bradley Buskey
Clair Fuller: Whitney Christiansen
David Ballard: Michael Conley

This short film is a work of fiction and any resemblance to people, places or events from the past, present or future is purely coincidental.  We were just some friends getting together to shoot a short film.

This film will be shot the weekend of March 24th.  I hope to have it edited and rendered during the following week and published the weekend after.  Look for it on Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo.  Links will follow once the film has been uploaded.
